How the timer works
It counts the words in your script and divides by a speaking pace. As a rule of thumb, most people speak at about two to three words a second: two is calm and clear, three is a quick, energetic read. The natural setting, two and a half words a second, suits most ads.
It's an estimate. Pauses, numbers you spell out (“2026” takes longer to say than one word), and on-screen moments with no voice all add time. Read the script aloud once with a timer before you record.
What to do when the script is too long
Cut, don't speed up. A rushed read is harder to follow, and viewers scroll past. Keep one idea per ad: the problem, what your product does about it, and one clear next step. Drop the second benefit, the company history and repeated words first.

Questions
- How many words is a 30 second ad?
- About 60 to 90 words: 75 at a natural pace of two and a half words a second. A 15 second ad fits about 30 to 45 words.
- Does it work for other languages?
- It counts words in languages that put spaces between words, such as English and Hindi. Speaking pace differs by language and speaker, so time one read aloud to choose the pace setting.
- Is my script saved or uploaded?
- No. The timer runs in your browser and nothing you type leaves your device.
